KOtor Bay & The Coast
Kotor Bay is the southernmost fjord in Europe, a beautiful inlet peppered with islands and surrounded by mountains that tower up to 1,500m (4,920ft). This natural harbour has been protected from development and it’s so pristine that you can still catch a whiff of the Adriatic from 40km inland. In addition to its natural beauty, Kotor Bay is home to a handful of historic Venetian-era towns, including Kotor, Perast and Risan, while former military roads, built during the Austro-Hungarian era, snake their way through the mountains. Today, these make excellent walking, cycling and horse trekking routes, with many offering sweeping views over Montenegro’s coast.
